BIG COUNTRY OUTBACK SAFARIS is run and staffed by a small group of like-minded people who have in common a love of the Australian Outback, and a real delight in bringing it to life for their passengers. The firm's motto: "We inform - we motivate - we entertain" says it all. Big Country's main turf is Far North Outback South Australia - the Flinders Ranges, Oodnadatta Track, Coober Pedy, the Simpson Desert and the Birdsville Track.

On our tours, the journey is as enjoyable as the destination … seeing the country, learning the history and embracing the culture.

Big Country Outback Safaris uses a range of 4WD and 6WD vehicles depending on type of tour, terrain etc. All vehicles are air-conditioned and have a maximum seating capacity of 8.

Tour groups are kept small so people can interact and get to know one another. There's an accent on fun, yarn-spinning (the art of Aussie story telling) and camaraderie - especially around the campfire at night.

On some tours we sleep in tents or under the stars in "swags" (an Aussie bed roll used widely in the Outback); on others we stay in pre-arranged accommodation.
